Tucson radio listeners now have a new station, 101.7-FM (also 830-AM KDRI) The Drive, which will focus on entertainment targeting listeners from ages 45 to 64.
Owners Fletcher McCusker, Bobby Rich and Jim Arnold purchased the radio frequencies with the opportunity in mind to serve an underserved population that is often ignored nationwide by radio.
The Drive will feature music from the 1960s through the 1980s, providing entertainment and information that its listeners will care about.
The station begins on air without advertising but has plans to hire staff to reach advertisers wanting to target this audience.

Israeli violin maker Amnon Weinstein has devoted 20 years to locating and restoring the violins of the Holocaust as a tribute to those who were lost, including 400 of his relatives. He calls them Violins of Hope.
From Feb. 3 to March 26 via lectures, concerts, exhibits and more statewide, these Violins of Hope will tell the remarkable stories of violins played by Jewish musicians during the Holocaust.
The events will transcend religious and other barriers to facilitate a community-wide dialogue about music, art, social justice and expression and the importance of cooperation and collaboration to achieve common goals.
