Tucson shopping center redeveloped to better serve residents

shopping center

Larsen Baker and Volk Co. are redeveloping the shopping center on the northwest corner of North Oracle and West Ina roads.

The 30,000-square-foot space, originally home to Platinum Fitness, will be divided among smaller tenants. The redeveloped, mixed-use space will feature a soon-to-be-announced tenant expected to occupy about 10,000 square feet. It will have a more intimate gym surrounded by breezeways with space for indoor/outdoor activities, restaurants, entertainment and offices.

Upon completion, the center will be able to provide its amenities to the residents of the foothills, Oro Valley and Marana.

New co-retail shopping concept opening in Scottsdale

The Merchantile of Scottsdale

A new collaborative retail shopping experience – The Merchantile of Scottsdale – will open in Old Town Scottsdale this October in the building that housed Saba’s Western Wear store for more than 60 years.

The shared marketplace space will feature a mix of clothing, accessories, home decor, arts, crafts and gifts curated by local artisans.

The co-retail concept is intended to help small businesses to grow by offering a shared space to sell their crafts by lowering the overhead costs associated with having a brick-and-mortar location. The space will also be used for community functions and pop-up events.
