In April, Ford announced a $500 million investment in Rivian. As part of that, Ford will develop an all-new, next-generation battery electric vehicle for Ford’s growing electric vehicle portfolio using Rivian’s skateboard platform.
Ford’s investment in electric vehicles proves its commitment to giving customers a range of these vehicles, including an all-new Mustang-inspired fully electric performance utility coming in late 2020. It is the first of seven vehicles coming by 2022.

Linda Zhang, F-150 All-Electric’s Chief Engineer, tested the capability of the prototype by towing over 1 million pounds the length of three football fields.
