Harrah’s Ak-Chin Casino unveils Campaign for the Cause

Campaign for the Cause

Harrah’s Ak-Chin Casino, part of Caesars Entertainment and the state’s only tribal casino to have an international management partner, is coming together for its annual “Campaign for the Cause,” a month-long campaign that is aimed at raising awareness for both women’s and men’s health issues.

Through the program, employees participate in a variety of events throughout October including a “SuperHERO Battle for the Cause” fashion show and a parade through the casino.

Caesars Entertainment properties throughout the United States compete in their own Campaign for the Cause activities to raise money for their local American Cancer Society chapters.

Southern Arizona program helps families obtain affordable housing

Washington Federal bank employees

Since 2010, the Pima County Community Land Trust (PCCLT) has been committed to providing a permanent supply of affordable housing for low- to moderate-income home buyers in the Tucson area. The nonprofit, community-based organization has provided 89 homes to local families.

These properties were foreclosures purchased by the City of Tucson and transferred to the PCCLT for renovations. PCCLT retains title to the land in order to keep mortgage payments low. If the homeowner sells, it must be to another lower-income buyer, and the property remains in the trust.

PCCLT hopes to serve over 175 individuals annually.
