After I owned my problem and deleted all the social media apps off my phone, I gained perspective.
Two things were suddenly missing in my workday: Envy, the green-eyed-monster, and anger disappeared. I don’t stare at my screen and feel rage bubbling up, thinking, “how can they think like this or believe that …?” Those emotions exhausted my endorphins.
My children sometimes “catch me” and complain when I’ve “like” a post. As I told them, I didn’t quit entirely, I might look at LinkedIn during the day, but I limit Facebook to a few minutes at night. Life is better.
