Modern Oysterbar Chophouse opens in Scottsdale

Modern Oysterbar

Modern Oysterbar Chophouse, located in what was formerly Sonata’s Restaurant at 10050 N. Scottsdale Road in Scottsdale, is now open.

The concept, focused on innovative shellfish, steaks, seafood and – of course – oysters, comes from restaurant veterans Frank Schneider and Cat and Randy Frankel, known for Steak 44, Zinc Bistro, Mastro’s Ocean Club and Bourbon and Bones. Mike Bouwens, formerly of Roaring Fork, serves as the executive chef.

A large oyster bar is the main visual attraction upon entering the 6,000-square-foot venue. The dining room seats 299 and patio seats 30. There is also an expansive bar area.
