Delta Dental of Arizona and Children’s Museum of Phoenix Partner to Offer Outdoor Activities to Celebrate Children’s Dental Health Month

For the 13th year in a row, Delta Dental of Arizona and the Children’s Museum of Phoenix are partnering in February – National Children’s Dental Health Month – to make oral health a bit more fun. Through the partnership, the Museum will host interactive activities, shows and educational information all related to the mouth, teeth and oral health each weekend all month long.

In accordance with CDC guidelines, this year the events have moved outside, and all participants are required to wear face coverings.  The oral health programs include:

  • Totally Tooth-Ular Magic Show presented by The Great Flossini at 10 a.m. and 11 a.m. on Feb. 5, 12, 20, 26 and 28. Audience members become a part of the show – from a distance this year – with highly interactive magic routines designed specifically to reinforce the importance of brushing, flossing, eating healthy foods and visiting the dentist regularly.
  • From First Tooth to Loose Tooth, where pediatric dentists chat with children and their parents. This casual program, which will be available from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. on Feb. 7, 14, 20 and 26, provides an opportunity for parents to chat with pediatric dentists from across the Valley about anything from thumb-sucking to the best time to take your baby to the dentist.
  • The Great Arizona Puppet Theater is also back again this year, performing oral health-themed puppet shows at 10 a.m. and 12 p.m. on Feb. 6, 13, 19, 21 and 27. Each performance is geared toward children ages 2 to 8.

In addition, “Smile Bags” containing toothbrushes, toothpaste, floss and fun facts about dental health, which will be available every day to all visitors of the Museum Feb. 1-28, as well as daily hands-on activities ranging from art projects to teach proper brushing techniques and flossing tactics, crafts to create tooth fairy pillows and tooth-saver necklaces, and educational opportunities to learn about tooth-saving traditions from other cultures and about the teeth of various animals.

Stay Healthy, AZ Drive-By Sign in Phoenix

Starting today, Valley driver may have noticed something up in the sky. It’s not a bird. It’s not a plane. It’s not even Superman or Santa just yet.It happens to sparkling lights strung up to a tall crane on Fourth Avenue and Fillmore Street in downtown Phoenix. Locally owned and operated CHASSE Building Team decided to put up these lights – which spell out STAY HEALTHY, AZ – over the weekend, which will stay on well into the new year to help make the season right now a little more merry and bright but also to make sure we are all still being diligent about taking care of ourselves and each other as we move past 2020 into the new year.

An essential business, CHASSE has remained diligent in all CDC-recommended protocols to ensure the general contractor can safely continue to help quite literally build Arizona.

“We put a COVID-19 task force together very early on to assist with everything from mobile handwashing stations, jobsite signage including all of our requirements, well-checks and more,” says founder Barry Chasse. “As a result, we completed some pretty impactful things this year for Arizona. We are especially proud of completing the build of Heidi’s Village, which is a first of its kind animal sanctuary in Midtown, as well as several schools including Wood Elementary School and Creighton Academy, among others.

CHASSE also broke ground on some big projects, including the new John McCain Elementary School planned for the West Valley and a big update to Hohokam Elementary in Scottsdale.
