Modern Studios opens in Tucson

Modern Studios

Modern Studios, a 12,000-square-foot facility designed to make Tucson a national hub for video production and innovative commercials and film, is now open.

The facility houses two studios – 5,000 and 2,000 square feet – each equipped with world-class LED lighting from DMG Lumiere by Rosco. Each also boasts Pro Cyc cyclorama wall systems.

Modern Studios is also home to a MRMC BOLT Cinebot, which produces high-quality commercial, film, video and stock footage images. By mid-2019, it will add a MRMC Milo motion control rig, used for live action shooting and macro tabletop work.

‘MOLLY OF DENALI,’ a new animated series to debut in 2019

Molly of Denali

Produced by WGBH Boston, “MOLLY OF DENALI” is an action-adventure comedy that follows the adventures of feisty and resourceful 10-year-old Molly Mabray, an Alaska Native girl.

The series has been developed with a group of Alaska Native advisors and consultants. Princess Daazhraii Johnson (Neets’aii Gwich’in), producer and Fairbanks resident, is creative producer of the series. “MOLLY OF DENALI” will feature Alaska Native scriptwriters as well as Alaska Native voice talent in key roles, including the lead role of Molly.

WGBH and its animation partner Atomic Cartoons will be hosting Alaska Native interns for production and animation roles.
