Servant leadership

Copper State of Mind

Sen. John McCain’s passing reminds us of the importance of servant leadership. The concept of servant leadership is simple – if you care enough to first serve others, then you will be enriched with personal and organizational success.

A servant leader sees the world through another’s eyes. This requires the leader to have a genuine interest in others, demonstrated by acceptance of each person, including their special needs and unique personality.

Whether you agree or disagree with the senator’s politics, there is no doubt he was a true servant leader, one who put others before himself and country above all else.
