My postcard from Poland: remarkable humans

My wife and I jumped in an Uber in Warsaw, Poland a couple of weeks ago. As you might expect, our driver was from Ukraine.

“The Polish people are too kind to us, give Ukranians so much help, help we can never repay,” he said. He wasn’t telling us anything we didn’t already see ourselves.

We stayed in a 100-year-old luxury hotel that was buzzing with humanitarian workers. I befriended several of them as they worked tirelessly to assist Ukrainian refugees, with a special focus on helping minors without parents get connected with another family member somewhere in the world.
