Tucson is set to host a four-day celebration of food culture at the inaugural Pueblos Del Maíz festival next month, hosted by Tucson City of Gastronomy, a local nonprofit.
The event pays tribute to the influence maize (corn) has played in Southern Arizona’s food heritage for thousands of years. A series of events and festivities have now been announced to take place, starting Thursday, May 5 leading into the main celebration Sunday, May 8.
Locals can expect a block party with street food, cooking demonstrations, a chef showcase dinner, concerts, a film screening, exhibits and educational activities of all ages. Details here.
