In my last column, I wrote about how I overcame my addiction to social media. I find email is also a problem.
Yes, I’m too easily distracted. I’ve got a thousand things to do each week – I’d like to grow my company, RightSure Insurance. I want to write more books. I have to look at more financial reports. I need to encourage my excellent team and support more nonprofits.
I’ve concluded that emails are someone else’s work. Now, I start my day with my priorities rather than getting sucked into my inbox. The emails are still there when I’m ready.
