Heard Museum: Fred Harvey and the Santa Fe Railroad

Free and open to all seniors!In 1876, Fred Harvey contracted with the Santa Fe Railroad to open his first restaurant in Topeka, Kansas. The deal as made with a Handshake and led to a partnership that would help “settle” the southwestern United States and dramatically change the lives of the indigenous people who lived here. Join Jane Przelica, a dedicated docent and ambassador for the Heard Museum, who promotes, interprets and advances American Indian Art in the Southwest.
