Heard Museum: Fred Harvey and the Santa Fe Railroad

In 1876, Fred Harvey contracted with the Santa Fe Railroad to open his first restaurant in Topeka, Kansas.  The deal as made with a Handshake and led to a partnership that would help “settle” the southwestern United States and dramatically change the lives of the indigenous people who lived here. Join Jane Przelica, a dedicated docent and ambassador for the Heard Museum, who promotes, interprets and advances American Indian Art in the Southwest.
