Use Visuals to Boost Digital Engagement

visuals boost engagement

Humans are highly visual. While long content can attract and hold our attention, the proper visual aids can do a lot to trigger an immediate response and increase consumer engagement with your brand and business.

By putting out ephemeral content through Instagram Stories or Facebook, you can get your audience’s attention, enough to get them to your product or service pages. Additionally, 45 percent of people watch over an hour of Facebook and/or YouTube videos weekly. Take advantage of that by creating videos for your brand’s digital channels, including LinkedIn. Use them to introduce your product, team or services regularly.

What you can and can’t do with IGTV

IGTV, Instagram’s foray into long-form video content, is unique in that it’s primarily for vertical content. While brands have been slow to adopt this feature, there might be room for smaller companies to get an edge.

Can: Post previews of up to 60 seconds to your feed.

Can’t: Change the caption of the preview post – and it’s pulled directly from the video’s title, so be mindful.

Can: Link the video to your story via “swipe up,” which previously was reserved for accounts with 10,000 followers or more.

Can’t: Pay to boost previews or full videos.

Facebook launches new Birthday Stories feature

birthday stories

People have always come to Facebook to connect with friends around day-to-day life, and celebrate important moments, like birthdays. As such, on May 9, Facebook launched Birthday Stories globally.

It is a new type of story where friends, family and everyone in the community can add digital birthday cards, photos and/or videos to a special Facebook story to celebrate one’s big day. The result is a happy birthday message that’s visual, memorable, interactive and fun.

It is like getting a personalized birthday card from everyone you care about, no matter where they might be in the world.
