Building a 1,500-piece LEGO 911 is its own special type of therapy

Back in December, suffering under the mental weight of COVID fatigue and a fruitless home search, I desperately sought a new form of escapism. Lacking a better idea, I bought a LEGO Porsche 911.

I couldn’t have predicted that a pile of tiny toy bricks would be so effective at removing layers of stress. Plus, apparently I’m not alone – some psychologists are recommending LEGO-building as a bonafide mindfulness exercise, and there are even stories of LEGO sets helping veterans cope with PTSD.

Plus, I got a beautiful 911 out of it – one that Holly approved for display in our new house.
