Bearizona, an Arizona wildlife park devoted to providing homes for wild animals in need, has broken ground on a 40,000-square-foot habitat called “The Grizzly Encounter.”
When complete in spring 2021, the nearly $1 million habitat will house three orphaned grizzly cubs rescued in June 2020. The new Grizzly Encounter will incorporate expansive grounds and multi-level spaces for the bears to enjoy and guests to experience. Among the most impressive planned elements of the habitat are a 200-foot cliff, two waterfalls, underwater viewing areas and a rock ridge. Moats, railings and paneling will also be constructed to ensure the safety of guests.
