Are you afraid of public speaking?

Years ago, at my daughter’s kindergarten graduation, she had to deliver a line in front of a room full of parents. Knowing just how scary it would be up on that stage, I made her practice.

Her first attempt was mousy and inaudible. As she practiced, her voice got louder and developed confidence. Because of our preparation, she spoke loud and clear that day. Now, as a rising senior, she draws on that memory every time she gets in front of an audience.

One of the greatest gifts we can give our graduates is learning to speak, inspire and influence.
